I can see where I am heading in my art and most important I can see how I am going to do it. I decided to expand my thinking about this blog, how I market my work, the way I was doing things. I am thinking I am ready for this next step out into the world. Now is the ....... Time!

Two Tall #4
This is my latest drawing..."Two Tall #4"... I have done this drawing 4 other times. I do like doing a drawing over again as it gives me a chance to change some elements of each drawing...& I do sell them so I will repeat a good "balance" set-up. I feel my small drawings give people a chance to purchase artwork that don't cost too much.... & I get to do a color drawing that isn't a long commitment, as with my other black/white drawings. I enjoy all the cross lines, they are mediation to me, layers of colors filling the background until it melts together as light, air. The colors of the rocks change in each drawing based on this background color & what tension in color I am looking for overall. The rocks rough texture next to the smooth & transparent, glassy look of some the dice. The shapes of rocks, dice balanced, built on each other to form their towers.

Balance
I use soft & hard color pencils for these small Still Life's drawings with minimal objects in them. I started stacking towers of my "collections" & began to push how far I could balance the pieces before they would fall. Thus the "Balance" series started. Each drawing is my experimentation how balance forms....using rocks, dice, keys & flowers. I began to think how our lives are built, balanced over time by each part we add...strength, beauty, chance...to form our own ....towers of balance.

Putting it out!
The starting of something….something new & unknown…a blog, seems a lot like making art on paper, which I know how, but this is different…art in words & on the net…living forever maybe longer than the real works of art in the real world now shared in the virtual world. The first of firsts for me.
